Project cargo and oversized freight coordination

Outside the box.
Inside the plan.

Some freight calls for a different approach. We work through the dimensions, lifting needs, route and handling arrangements before selecting the right transport solution.

What we coordinate

Non-standard freight.
A considered approach.

Thoughtful coordination for oversized, heavy and non-standard freight.

01

Break bulk movements

Options for freight that cannot travel in a standard container, coordinated with carriers and handling partners.

02

Oversized equipment

Flat-rack and open-top options considered alongside the cargo’s dimensions, weight and securing requirements.

03

Project coordination

A shipment plan that connects international transport with port handling, clearance and the destination site.

An engineering-minded brief

Dimensions first. Decisions second.

  1. Measure

    The transport envelope

Record final packed length, width, height and weight—not the uncrated machine dimensions.

  2. Assess

    The handling method

Share drawings, lifting points, centre of gravity where relevant, and any securing restrictions.

  3. Connect

    The destination site

Review access, lifting equipment, the receiving window and each handover along the route.

From enquiry to movement

Clear from the start.

01

Review dimensions, drawings and handling details

02

Assess suitable equipment and routing

03

Coordinate the movement and final handover

Planning your project cargo

The route starts with the technical detail.

The right solution depends on more than whether a machine will fit in a container. Supply drawings, photos, packed dimensions, gross weight, lifting details and any handling restrictions. Identify provisional measurements so they can be confirmed before carrier or equipment commitments are made.

International transport, port handling and the destination site need to be assessed together. Explain who will unload, what equipment will be available and whether site access or a delivery appointment is required. Specific equipment, permits and specialist services are subject to assessment and confirmation.

Understand the scope
Equipment selection

Standard containers, open-top or flat-rack equipment and break bulk need an individual assessment. A dimensional drawing is more useful than a generic equipment label.

Specialist coordination

Route, permits, lifting arrangements and handling capability are subject to review. Confirm which specialist services are included before making commitments.

Receiving readiness

A machine reaching port is not the same as a site ready to accept it. Align the lifting plan, delivery booking and receiving team before the final movement.

From Australia to your customer

Exporting machinery or oversized equipment

Start at the Australian factory or collection site, not only at the overseas discharge port. Confirm access, packing dimensions, lifting points, loading equipment and who is responsible for securing the cargo. The booked equipment and route must connect with the overseas receiving site. Share drawings and the buyer’s receiving requirements early so each specialist handover can be assessed.

Useful to know

Your questions.
Answered.

What information helps you plan a project shipment?

Dimensions, weight, centre of gravity where relevant, lifting points, photographs and technical drawings help establish the handling requirements.

Can you quote before the equipment is ready?

Yes. Early planning is useful. Let us know the expected ready date and flag any dimensions or weights that are still provisional.

Can we begin planning with provisional dimensions?

Yes, provided estimates are clearly marked. Final measurements, weights and handling requirements must be confirmed before the relevant bookings are committed.

Does fitting inside a container make the shipment suitable?

Not by itself. Loading access, weight distribution, securing, handling and the inland route must also be assessed.
