Food & temperature-sensitive cargo

Sensitive cargo.
A considered chain of care.

Temperature-sensitive freight needs its requirements defined before a booking is made. We help you bring product details, equipment requirements and the handovers between origin and destination into the same plan.

01 / IN FOCUS

Describe the product, not just the container

Tell us what the goods are, how they are packaged, their required transport conditions and their usable shelf-life constraints. Separate the desired delivery date from the latest acceptable receipt date. A reefer booking is not a substitute for a complete product and handling specification.

Review each handover

Collection, terminal handling, ocean or air carriage, clearance and local delivery can all affect the shipment plan. Discuss storage and waiting periods as well as the main transport leg. Any temperature-monitoring or special handling arrangement needs to be explicitly agreed.

Check requirements before dispatch

Food and other sensitive products can require cargo-specific documentation and specialist review. Share the commodity, origin and supporting product information early. Your broker and the appropriate authorities should confirm the requirements for the actual shipment.

AUSTRALIAN EXPORTERS

Export readiness starts with the product.

For food exports from Australia, identify the commodity, processing and packaging details, required temperature range and overseas market. Check the applicable Australian export requirements and destination conditions before booking. Documentation, establishment or certification requirements vary by product and market; a refrigerated booking alone does not establish eligibility to export.

Exporting from Australia: prepare the whole journey
Official export guidance · ABF: export reporting and requirements · DAFF: exporting agricultural goods. Check requirements for the actual product and destination. This is general planning information, not a clearance decision.

Discuss your shipment
Before the freight is booked

Agree the handover, not just the arrival.

Describe the product, packaging, temperature requirements and receiving arrangements early. Product acceptance, cold-chain capability and import conditions require a shipment-specific review.
